Original Mixed Media Painting (90cm x 75cm)

"A visual study of the moment two souls become a single, unified pulse."

Internal Symbiosis is a profound exploration of the complex nature of human connection. It portrays not just two figures, but the merging of two histories and two distinct sets of emotions into a single, vibrant entity. This work captures the exact moment where the boundaries of 'self' dissolve into the 'other.'

At the heart of the composition lies a central fiery core, representing the shared passion and raw energy of union. This is balanced by cooler, structural tones that form the framework of a new, shared reality.

The Texture & Technique

This piece is a testament to Chaya De Silva's multidisciplinary approach. Using a rich combination of acrylic and integrated fabrics, the surface is highly tactile and architectural. The inclusion of textile elements pays homage to the artist’s heritage in Sri Lankan batik, creating a "history" on the canvas. Every brushstroke and fabric layer is placed to invite the viewer to engage with the art on both a visual and a sensory level.
